What sustains a long and happy intimate relationship? Is it love? Communication? Emotional support? Or the connection between body and mind?
When a marriage settles into the daily routine of work, meals, and bills, and the early passion gives way to ordinary life, many couples find themselves living under the same roof yet drifting toward something closer to roommates. How do we understand what the other person actually needs — and how do we rebuild real intimacy?
For the second session of AAAA’s Women’s Growth Salon Series, the Family Law Committee puts on the table a question everyone cares about yet few discuss openly: “The Heart of Intimacy — Is Physical Intimacy the Cornerstone of Marriage?” From the body, to the mind, to the marital relationship — a fresh look at long-term intimacy.
—— Three guests, three perspectives ——
· Dr. Fang Miao — Founder and Chair of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Alliance, a global executive coach and leadership expert. Starting from women’s growth and self-worth: only when you see your own needs can you ask to be seen by others.
· Dr. Junhong (June) Cao — Founder and President of Mind Connections Inc., a licensed psychologist. Speaking from psychology and emotion: the sense of safety behind intimacy, emotional regulation, and honest expression.
· Christopher A. Callaghan, Esq. — Partner at Callaghan Law Office, practicing international and domestic business law, estate planning, accident and injury law, immigration, and criminal defense. Speaking from the marital relationship and real-world responsibility: commitment and boundaries.
Keywords: intimacy · communication · emotional regulation · physical connection · lasting marriage.
Whether you are a wife or a mother, a husband or a father, or simply someone still growing — there is a new way of understanding love and intimacy waiting for you here.
