AAAA-Backed Edmond Wong Wins First Place in Queens Civil Court Primary
- Placed first with 50,113 votes among four candidates in the June 23 Democratic primary
- Endorsed by the Queens County Democratic Party · “Approved” by the NYC Bar Association
- In heavily Democratic Queens, a primary win all but secures the general election
- On track to be elected in November as a Queens Civil Court Judge
On June 23, 2026, the results of New York’s Queens Democratic primary came in, and attorney Edmond Wong — long supported by the Asian American Attorneys Association (AAAA) — placed first among the four candidates for Queens Civil Court Judge with 50,113 votes, taking a decisive step toward election to the bench.
Because Democratic voters make up an overwhelming majority in Queens, winning the Democratic primary generally means prevailing in the November general election as well. In other words, Edmond Wong is now well positioned to be formally elected this November and to take office as a Queens Civil Court Judge.
Wong had already received the endorsement of the Queens County Democratic Party and an “Approved” rating from the New York City Bar Association — recognition of both his professional ability and his standing in the community.
AAAA extends its warmest congratulations to Edmond Wong on this outstanding result. As a professional organization that has long supported him, the Association has witnessed his dedication to the law and his service to the community. His success is not only the fruit of his own hard work but also an inspiring example of an Asian American attorney stepping into public service and the judiciary — a source of pride and encouragement for the Chinese and broader Asian American community.
AAAA noted that it will continue to support and encourage more Asian American legal professionals to take part in public affairs and serve the community, so that Asian American voices are more fully represented in the judiciary and in public life. We wish Edmond Wong every success in the November general election and a smooth path to the bench.
